The Dr Frank Weakly Reader for 5.14.2021

… or vice versa, or neither. Or both. Even I have no idea what I’m getting at, but I do know that I’m typing up a little introduction to another one of these Weakly Reader things, wherein I collate items from the past week on the Dr Frank web and arrange them attractively on a page so they can be reviewed and searched for in the future if necessary.

The main thing going on this past week was the commencement of the “dibs” process for Shards vol. iii (see the FRONT BURNER directly below for the latest on that.) …

The Dr Frank Weakly Reader for 5.07.2021, incl.

Welcome friends, to another Dr Frank Weakly Reader, and another double-week edition this time because I skipped last week (that’s what I mean by “incl.” in the subtitle.) As it is at least theoretically possible that someone may look at this who hasn’t looked at any previous Weakly Reader, I repeat the spiel: this is mainly a means index my own “content” in this post-index internet, in case I ever want to find anything in the future. I usually big it up with illustrations, annotations, and the like, and sometimes I’ll include extra items and commentary (as here with the…

ODIN xxxi

photo by Neil Motteram, Great American Music Hall, 2003

Like it says, this is the thirty-first collation of Song for Odin posts, the latest installment of a sort of project stretching back three years and covering 129 different songs (in 173 entries.) The basic idea is, each week, on Wednesday, I upload a video “resource” of a song of mine or done by me or my band and type up some commentary. I’ve been doing it most every week. Like most things in life, I do it without any good articulable reason. And every month or so, I compile them, lightly edited and illustrated, into a document like this…

The Dr Frank Weakly Reader for 4.23.21, incl.

Welcome, minions, if such there be, to yet another Dr Frank Weakly Reader, covering two weeks once again instead of the usual one because it was skipped last week. Mistakes were made. Sometimes indexing one’s own internet content for an audience of not much more than one is too much for the sensitive soul to face.

But then, one bursts forth and comes surging back. Such has been the nature of weakly readers for æons, I imagine. The narcissistic personality disorder must go on.

So here we are, burst, surged, drained, and somewhat slightly smudged… so let’s away to the…

The Dr Frank Weakly Reader for 4.09.2021, incl.

Hello friends, and welcome to another Dr Frank Weakly Reader, that thing I do where I attempt to index my own internet for future findability since, as we all know, though few care: it ain’t gonna index itself.

I slacked off and skipped last week so this is two weeks’ worth… read along if you like.

And now, without further ado (as I’ve got very little ado to my name at the moment) on we hurtle into the weak that was…

FRONT BURNER

The Dr Frank Weakly Reader for 3.26.21

Hello friends, and welcome. What we’ve got here is another Dr Frank Weakly Reader, wherein I have attempted to index my own internet for the week. As usual it is annotated, augmented, illustrated, and jazzed up. I do it mainly for myself so I’ll have somewhere to search if I ever want to find anything, but feel free to read along if you like. There’s no charge.

The main thing we’ve got coming up is the Lookout Zoomout III, which is happening this Sunday, March 28, noon Pacific. Here’s the link for tickets. …

The Dr Frank Weakly Reader for 3.19.21, incl.

Elio Luxardo, Ballerine futuriste, ca. 1930

Hello. I’ve assembled another of these Dr Frank Weakly Readers, though it’s two weeks’ worth of stuff instead of the usual one because I skipped it last week as I sometimes do. It’s meant to be an effective index of otherwise unrecoverable internet posts, so I have a place to search if I want to find something. As I always say, I do it mainly for my own use, but I try to make it interesting and pretty as well, just in case anyone else might like to follow along. And as usual, it’s annotated, illustrated, augmented, and expanded, here…

The Dr Frank Weakly Reader for 3.05.21

Hello, sports fans, and welcome to another Dr Frank Weakly Reader, wherein I compile, annotate, expand, and illustrate the week’s hijinks in the Dr Frank web-o-sphere. This is mainly so I can have a place to search if I ever need to find something in future, but I also try to make it pretty and fun in case anyone else wants to read along. Feel free, if so.

So, if I have this right, the Dallas soccer team has announced a sponsorship deal with a Texas tech company called MTX, with the result that their corporate logo is now incorporated…

The Dr Frank Weakly Reader for 2.26.21 incl.

Hello, my friends, and welcome to the latest Dr Frank Weakly Reader, that thing I do where I assemble an assemblage of the week’s “content,” illustrated, annotated, and expanded where appropriate. This is primarily so it may be found later, but also because OCD. (This one covers two weeks because I skipped last week — that’s what “incl.” is meant to mean.)

It’s a stupid job but somebody has to do it. Being something of a realist, at least about the appeal of such a project, I do it mainly for myself. But being, as well, a dreamer of big…

ODIN XXX

Yes, folks, it’s the thirtieth collation of Songs for Odin, bringing it all up to date with 167 entries covering 127 different songs. (Those numbers don’t match because some songs have more than one entry.)
